Therapy at Engram Psychology
Our focus is not just on symptom reduction.
We aim to help you understand the patterns shaping your experiences and develop practical skills to create lasting change.
How We Work
Some clients come to therapy with a clear concern. Others have a broader sense that something isn’t working, but find it difficult to pinpoint why. At Engram Psychology, we work both ends of the spectrum.
Our focus is not just on symptom relief, but on helping you understand the patterns shaping your experiences and developing practical skills to create lasting change.
Therapy begins with building a shared understanding of your situation including what has contributed to your current difficulties, the patterns that may be maintaining them, and the strengths and resources you bring. This will guide treatment, ensuring that the strategies we use are relevant, targeted, and effective. From there, ongoing work focuses on:
Clarifying your goals and identifying priority areas for change.
Science-backed skill development
Application of strategies between sessions
Reviewing progressing and refining strategies over time.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy provides a structured space to explore your experiences, build insight into your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, and develop practical strategies that support change and goal attainment. Learn more about individual therapy.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy focuses on understanding the patterns of interaction within your intimate relationships and developing more effective ways of communicating, connecting, and responding to one another. Learn more about couples therapy.
Areas of Practice
We work with adults and couples across a range of areas, including:
Anxiety, low mood, or a reduced sense of motivation or direction
Ongoing stress or burnout
Difficulties managing emotions, which may present as feeling overwhelmed, reactive, or simply shut down
Difficulties with organisation, avoidance, or procrastination that impact follow-through and goal attainment
Life transitions or adjustment difficulties
The ongoing impact of earlier experiences (e.g. during childhood or past relationships)
Repeated patterns in personal and professional relationships that lead to recurring conflict, avoidance or withdrawal behaviours, emotional disconnection, or communication difficulties.
Don’t see your situation reflected here? That’s ok! You’re welcome to get in touch or arrange an initial appointment to discuss how we can work together toward your goals.
